CSEA aims to build on the encouraging progress of its first three years to become an important actor in Nigeria’s economic policy debates, and over time, in debates across the continent as Africa more fully engages with the global economy.

The Center for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA) is an independent, non-profit, policy research organization that conducts applied research on economic policy issues.

Current key areas of work include macroeconomic management, transparency and accountability, opinion research, and polling. A recent policy brief prepared by CSEA addressed the role of civil society organizations in supporting fiscal transparency, while another recent work addressed fiscal policy management. CSEA plans to establish an independent research agenda in the areas of public financial management, climate change, oil revenue management, governance, international studies, and science and technology.

CSEA has begun to build linkages with financial and technical partners, civil society networks, and the National Planning Commission of Nigeria.

Research Areas:
Macroeconomic Management
Public Financial Management and Accountability
